Victorian Branch

Community Union Defence League

The Victorian Branch of Community Union Defence League offers ongoing support to anyone in need, including holding fundraisers for struggling families and solidarity causes, as well as providing material support to working class, anti-colonial and anti-racist campaigns.

We also supply people in the community with home-cooked meals, basic food stuffs, hygiene and sanitary products including masks and soap, clothing and blankets, and other essentials.

We currently run several programs which include:
Melbourne CBD Street Kitchen - every Sunday @ Victoria State Library from 3-6pm
Dandenong Street Kitchen - every Saturday @ Dandenong Plaza from 3-6pm
Solidarity Gardening & Lawncare Program - email
melbourne@cudl.org.au for more info

~ How you can get involved with CUDL

SERVING - Sign up to the roster to ensure we have a good idea of volunteer numbers and everyone receives a work permit, in compliance with COVID restrictions, and to keep us COVID safe!

Volunteer Now - Sign up to the roster

You can either sign up as a one off casual volunteer, or join one of the regular (fortnightly) teams.

COOKING - Sign up to one of the roster options as a cook to be sent a reminder each week to complete the cooking form (just ignore the prompt if you don’t plan to cook that week).

There’s separate rosters for both Dandenong (every Saturday) and the State Library (every Sunday) kitchens.

You can also fill out the cooking form directly here:

https://www.cognitoforms.com/CommunityUnionDefenceLeague2/CommunityKitchenVolunteerCooksVIC

Make sure to complete this form 48 hours before the day if you need your food picked up so we can organise a driver. The driver will normally pick up food between 11am - 2pm.

Every week we aim to have around 250 meals for each kitchen. Within reason, we don’t have any restrictions on the types of food we accept, but do ask that ingredients lists are supplied.

DONATE - Support us financially via the following link:
